  • How does it work?
  • For the treatment of infections due to susceptible organisms which include infections of the urinary tract, respiratory tract and skin. It is also used for otitis media and post-operative infections. Susceptible organisms are B-lactamase producing strains of haemophilus Influenzae and Moraxella (Branhamella) catarrhalis which cause lower respiratory infections; B-lactamase producing strains of haemophilus Influenzae and Moraxella (Branhamella) catarrhalis causing otitis media and sinusitis; and B-lactamase producing strains of Staphyloccocus aureus, Echerichia coli, Klebsiella spp and Enterobacter spp which cause skin and skin structure infections.
  • How is it taken?
